Richmond’s annual market day was back for another year on Friday, December 28.
The market day saw a large portion of Queen Street closed and filled with stalls by local business’ and vendors.
Charlotte Bidlake of Richmond Unlimited, the organisers of the event, says that 2018 was their “biggest year stallholder wise.”
As well as local businesses and food vendors, there were entertainment zones for the kids at the library and at Sundial Square.
GK events hire supplied umbrellas for the event, providing shade on a hot day.
Charlotte says that the new Queen Street layout without the curb helped the event, and there was more space available for both vendors and shoppers to enjoy the day.
She says the Richmond Districts Community Patrol played a big part in the success of the event. “[They] were awesome, and came and helped us with marshalling and getting the stallholders in and out – we couldn’t have done it without them.”
