It’s almost that time of the year again to deck the halls and unpack the decorations in preparation for Christmas.

To get things going, the annual Pak ‘n Save Richmond Santa Parade is set for Sunday, November 25, and Charlotte Bidlake from Richmond Unlimited is asking people to register their floats by November 13.

“Participants will need to provide ‘one walker for each wheel’,” says Charlotte. “They need to be physically capable of stopping a child from running out on the road.”

Around 30 floats entered last year’s parade and enchanted thousands of onlookers with their spectacular decorations.

“There is $1500 of Pak n’ Save vouchers up for grabs for float entries. As well as prizes for first, second and third place. There is also a People’s Choice category and this year a special category for schools and preschools. Extra entertainment has been lined up for after the Santa Parade event, at Sundial Square.

“Santa will be there, so it will be a great chance for a photo opportunity.

“We have the Twisty Twins, free face painting, characters in dress-up, it is going to be a really fun event.”
