OUR HISTORY

Locally owned. Locally operated.

Waimea Weekly was founded in October 2005 by local couple Steve Page and Jenny Bates. It has steadily grown to become the region’s favourite newspaper. It has earned the trust of readers and advertisers alike with its strong presence in the community and strong focus on all things good in the region.

The newspaper is based in Richmond (10 minutes south from Nelson city) and serves the Tasman region, delivering every Wednesday to 12,232 homes as far south as Murchison, across to Mapua, Tapawera and St Arnaud. This also includes all farms, lifestyle blocks and towns. Everyone gets us and recently we became the only newspaper left to fully cover this area. And we continue to grow.

Where we go

Have a look at the map. 3 local papers all locally owned. And we work together well. Covering a massive 97% of the market and that includes farms, lifestyle blocks and rural towns.

Home delivery too, not drop off points! In fact ours is one of the largest circulation areas in NZ. We can offer some great deals for those businesses and organisations that need to talk to the top of the South Island.

The Waimea Weekly circulation area is shown in yellow.
