The long-awaited ski season has officially begun with Rainbow Ski Field’s opening weekend. Sarah Jacobs, customer service team leader says the crew put in a great effort to make sure the ski field was up and running in time for their 40th ski season. “We had great weather and lots of happy people for the first weekend,” says Sarah. With music from a More FM DJ booth, visitors could enjoy tunes while they rode the slopes. Mountain manager Thomas Harry says snowmakers worked hard with “intensive snowmaking” during the past three weeks to get ready for opening day. That could all change later this month with Snow NZ forecasting 103cm of snow for Rainbow over the next week. Discounted tickets and lessons are being offered for to celebrate their anniversary season.
